Hayden-McNeil recognizes Ron Brooks and colleagues at Oklahoma State University!
Academic Universe: Research and Writing at Oklahoma State University is now in its second edition with Hayden-McNeil. Ron Brooks and team worked tirelessly to locate and select new readings and materials for the second edition of their Freshman Composition course reader. They are truly dedicated to updating each edition with current and topical journal articles, news stories, and attention-grabbing excerpts from a variety of fiction and non-fiction titles. By partnering with Hayden-McNeil, they can be sure that their selected readings will navigate the copyright clearance process on time and within budget. We keep them up-to-date every step of the way so there are no surprises and the finished product is what they wanted and expected.

Hayden-McNeil recognizes Kristen Miller and Norris Armstrong at the University of Georgia!
Kristen Miller and Norris Armstrong were new authors for the fall of 2011. They brought with them four different Biology lab manuals (1103L, 1104L, 1107L, and 1108L/2108L) as well as a custom lab journal for the 1108L/2108L course. The lab journal is a unique product as it features frosted plastic front and back covers in order to prevent the interior grid paper from getting damp while working outside in wet areas.
Thank you, Kristen and Norris, for working with Hayden-McNeil!

Hayden-McNeil recognizes Krista Peppers at the University of Central Arkansas!
Hayden-McNeil has been working with UCA’s Department of Biology since 1998 and with Krista on her department’s Biology for General Education laboratory manual since 2008.
Krista is very interested in new ways of engaging students with the course materials, and has worked diligently with the Hayden-McNeil team to create the perfect manual to achieve her goals. Her materials are typeset in a two-column format that features instructional illustrations and photos. Her good nature and sense of humor makes us all want to take her biology lab!

Hayden-McNeil recognizes Bill Ambrose at West Texas A&M University!
Bill started working with Hayden-McNeil in 2011 on two books: College Algebra and Pre-Calculus. As a camera-ready author, Bill did the formatting of these books himself and then worked closely with Hayden-McNeil to provide us with his files. Bill worked hard to ensure that his layout and design made it easy for the students to read and so that his content was easy to understand. The books are written with a focus on student learning through problem solving. With plenty of examples and problems, including “Check your Understanding”, Bill has set his students up for success in these courses.
Thank you, Bill, for working with Hayden-McNeil!

Hayden-McNeil recognizes Dana Kurpius and Fred Vogt at Elgin Community College!
Dana and Fred are new Hayden-McNeil authors for spring 2012. They wanted to replace their existing Biology Laboratory Manual with a custom written edition that was also significantly less expensive. In partnering with Hayden-McNeil, they were able to attain both of these goals as well as upgrade to a design that features customized scientific illustrations printed in full color. Dana and Fred worked closely with our expert scientific illustrators to develop and revise their illustrations so that they coordinated perfectly with their lessons and exercises. The end result is a seamlessly organized and truly customized edition that contains only the educational materials that they want and need in a lab manual. Thank you, Dana and Fred, for teaming with Hayden-McNeil!

Hayden-McNeil recognizes Yance Wyatt and The Writing Program staff at University of Southern California!
Yance and his team began working with Hayden-McNeil in 2011 to publish a course book for Writing 140, the initial course in USC’s composition sequence. The course provides a foundation for writing competence, in part, by pairing it with a Social Issues class. The two courses reinforce one another to help students develop critical thinking and reasoning skills in addition to basic writing abilities. For their first edition, The Writing Program wanted a typeset design that would create a more professional look for the book’s exercises and activities while maintaining a user-friendly style. We accomplished this with a clean layout and interspersing each chapter with photos that related to the topic. We also used red as an accent color to break up the text and make it pleasing to the eye.
Thank you, USC, for teaming with Hayden-McNeil!
